In Loving Memory of Francis “Toto” Catolico, SMI Basketball Captains Has Passed Away

It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that the SMI Basketball community announces the passing of one of St. Michael’s Institute’s finest student-athletes and team captains, Francis “Toto” Catolico.

Toto was far more than just a talented basketball player; he was the heartbeat of the team. As a captain, he led not just with skill on the court, but with a maturity and wisdom that commanded respect from peers and mentors alike. He was a smart, driven, and exceptional young man who embodied the true spirit of a student-athlete. To his teammates, he was a source of constant inspiration—a steady hand in pressure moments and a voice of encouragement during challenges.

He carried with him an infectious passion for the game, a resilient character, and a heart full of countless dreams for the future. Whether he was driving to the hoop or guiding his teammates through a tough practice, Toto played with a purpose that extended far beyond the scoreboard.

Though his journey was cut far too short, the impact he made is immeasurable. The memories he created, the lives he touched, and the standard of excellence he set will forever remain in our hearts. His legacy will live on in every game played and every lesson learned under the St. Michael’s banner.

Rest in peace, Toto, Kapitan Francis. Your St. Michael’s Institute Archangels family will never forget you.
