Family, friends, and members of the Pontefract community are mourning the passing of Kevin Mitchell, 62, who died peacefully at The Prince of Wales Hospice on September 2, 2026, following a brave and courageous battle with illness.

Kevin passed away surrounded by his loving family, bringing profound sadness to those who shared his life and cared deeply for him. While illness marked the final chapter of his journey, his family’s tribute places emphasis on the love, relationships, and memories that defined Kevin throughout his life.

He was the cherished and devoted husband of Jemma and a precious father to Lewis and his partner, Issy. Kevin was also a much-loved son-in-law to Jennifer and Terry, a cherished brother to Keith, Wendy, Janet, and Hayley, as well as a dear brother-in-law and uncle.

For his family, Kevin’s passing represents the loss of someone whose place in their lives can never be replaced. The relationships he built and the memories created throughout the years will remain a lasting part of the lives of those who loved him.

His death has prompted an outpouring of sadness among those who knew him, with loved ones now facing the difficult days of saying goodbye while holding onto the many moments they shared together.
